No problem It's a very good lens and when stopped down a little can produce excellent results. Makes a very good portrait lens when wider than f2 since the image has a slightly softer look and helps skin with blemishes.

I believe it is either not being made or on it's way out. It's not been on the roadmap for awhile and since the 35mm macro as well as the soon to be released 55 are going to available, they may have dropped it. I hope not and like some of the long FA*'s, it will be still built for a long time to come. It has a place in the line for sure.

Member cpopham pointed me to this page here: FA 50/1.4 It states 2004 as the last year of production. It is not on the roadmap anymore and it appears the new 55mm (much more expensive -> Street recommended price for DA*60-250/4 and DA*55/1.4 in Russia) will replace it.
