No one rattle any chain, least of all, you. Why the hostility too people who have used this lens? You got on here bad mouthing a lens that is optically quite good and is FF and works quite well on film and digital AF cameras. YOU said it didn't have MF when in fact it does and can be manual focused. On top of that, the cost of this lens is very affordable as well. Factor in its optics, speed and cost and this lens is incredible. No one said the mf was ideal on the FA 50.

I did say I would likely use one of my manual focus f1.4 lens if I was going out with that intent, however, I have used the FA 50mm on my SuperProgram when I have it along with my dSLR since I may not have both 50mm lenses with me. I have a tendency to match up lens sets with my MF bodies and others with my digital bodies. Therefore, your criticism of how I do things is invalid.

Edit: It will take more than a better focus ring to be better than the current FA 50mm. The optics will have to be better and remain at FF. As far as justifying a price doubling etc, it better be built like a limited.
