I got an old manual Quantaray 135mm f/2.8 on eBay for $17.50 (US). It has an all metal body and is really solid. I haven't had time to use it very much yet but here's a test shot I took with it of my dog.
I also bought a vivitar 2x tc for $10.50 but haven't really gotten anything yet with it.

I can now join this club. Two days ago a friend gave me a Sigma UC 70-210mm/5.6 and a Sigma DL 35-80mm/5.6 for free. He had bought an old Pentax film camera from an auction warehouse and it was faulty so he didn't want the lenses.
I'll leave this up to you guys to decide... I just bought a Vivitar 70-210mm Kiron F4 62mm with a UV/Haze filter off fleabay for 16.27 + 8 shipping.
The guy selling it definitely mis-labeled the auction as 70-120mm. Also, I don't think he realized that there was a filter screwed onto the front. Never know how a lens really is until you get it of course, but the picture looks pretty good. Even if it's junk, I'm not out enough money to worry about it.
Well, just to decide if I got a good lens for a cheap price. I've read good things about this particular lens so I figured I got a good deal. But of course we'll see how it turns out when i get it.
I say you hit the jackpot there, the main thing possibly wrong with those great lenses is their weight/size. I'm sure it's better than this T4 200/3.5:
Weight/size won't bother me much, I have a Sigma 24-135mm f2.8 and while you wouldn't think of it as a big lens, it's a monster. I'm used to carrying a big lens around with me all the time.
We'll see if it beats that shot though. A lot of it has to do with the camera operator, and I'm still a relative novice in that department.
Super Takumar 50/1.4 (mangled filter ring though, otherwise nice). Included a perfectly functional Spotmatic F. Snagged for me by my sister, $20 total from a yardsale.
THREE SMC M50/1.7s for $30 from a guy I met at a flea market. Yes, three. One damn near minty, other two in excellent shape. Sold two on ebay and more than doubled my money, still have one lens left over.
One SMC M40/2.8 with box, a ME SE body with light leaks, and a hoarde of random junk all in one big bag - ~$30 via ebay. When money got tight, I let somebody else get a DCL - I unloaded the M40 for $100 to another Pentax enthusiast on another list.
Less than super cheap, but I still consider them bargains...
One SMC M135/3.5 - $40 from a guy on another Pentax list. I later found it wouldn't focus to infinity and managed to disassemble, re-index the focusing helix, and reassemble. It's one of my favorite lenses.
One SMC M50/1.4 - About $58 from the shop I got my LX from.
oh and how could I forget my Pentax-A 50mm f/2 I snagged off of Ebay for a mere $35 shipped...talk about an under appreciated lens. My copy is truly "like new" and is fantastic. It's ridiculous how much better it is than the "kit" 18-55.
I totally agree with you on how nice the A 50mm lens is - I recently got the f1.7 version for $20 at a local second hand store. I love how sharp it is compared to the 18-55 kit lens.

I picked up an A 50mm f2 off ebay for $50 shipped. Just waiting on delivery. I probably paid a comparable price for it. Will have a few things to play with soon... I picked up a split prism focusing screen and a couple of manual focus lenses. Time to hone those manual focus skills...
A local camera store used to have used equipment in a case. One day I went in and it was gone. I asked about it and they said, it's in a closet in back (if you want to look). I did and most everything was marked at $5!
Partial list: I got several Zuikos (including a 35-105mm zoom), a couple 50mm f/1.7 Maxxum lenses, an old (but nice) 135mm Nikkor, a 500mm catadioptric f/8 k-mount lens, a vintage 135mm Miranda (with original caps), a Vivitar Series1 35-85 f/2.8 zoom/macro, a 28mm f/2 (stuck wide-open, but perfect for meteor photography) and the PRIZE of the bunch: an 85mm Zeiss Sonnar T* f/2.8 (yashica/contax mount) !!!
Jackpot!
I hate you.

Test shot with broken Auto Chinon 1:1.7 50mm M42 manual lens and Pentax K-mount adapter. This lens has aperture blades stuck wide open, they won't come out of the lens barrel even a bit. My mother gave her old CM-3 kit to me Any idea if that National PE-2006 flash unit will work with my K200D? At least it fits in the flash socket.
