I am probably one of the few people still using A lens for bird in flight shots

This was taken at fairly low shutter speed of 1/250s

Not true Daniel. Some of us are trying but you actually succeed.

Thanks. I have to say AF is the trend and typically AF lens sells 3x more than a MF lens of the same optics. Except A300mmF4 & Zenitar 16mm , all my other lenses are AF (Sigma 24-60mm EX F2.8, FA28mm F2.8, F50mmF1.7, FA100mm F2.8 Macro, FA135mm F2.8 , DA*200mm F2.8). I am in the middle of conversion and might as well make full use of whatever I have

A 100/2.8 macro

The frost has taken its toll on things here in S. Ontario. Winter not far off now.

A-24/2.8

just came back to Canada from 3 weeks holidays in France/Spain and started to process the (too) many photos I have taken.
I took with me a set of A (24/2.8, 35/2.8, 50/1.4, 100/2.8) with a LX and a K20D.

This one is with the 24/2.8 at ISO 800, 3 exposures processed HDR.

Early morning in my home town Toulouse-France. it looks nice and peaceful but over the years it has shockingly become a mess with trashy people taking over the old downtown and cheap joints replacing the old mom & pop stores. I am still choking about it as you can gather.

Cheers,

luc

Nice image Luc.

Sorry home wasn’t the way you left it. I think it was Thomas Wolfe who wrote You Can’t go home Again. There is more than a little truth in that title. In my own case the house I grew up in was sold after my mother’s passing. I went back a year or so later to take a look and found the tree I learned to climb in as a kid had been cut down. It was like Sauron and Mordor had invaded the Shire. Still have good memories but it’s not quite the same.

While it's not a macro, I used the Pentax-A 35mm f2.8 to the best of it's close focusing capability. I'm not a butterfly shooter, and this is really my first crack at it, when I was first testing this lens. Not sure if you're suppose to get the entire thing in focus, but at least I got the face.

Nice lens choices; I'm lusting for the A 24mm.
And, I have a good friend from Toulouse! Frederic

Anyway, bumpin the A Club with another from my A 100/2.8, but this time taken with NEW K20D

That turned out to be a good balanced set for travel both on digital and film. I can recommend the 24mm! And hello to Frederic

Cheers,

Luc

Hi guys, I've seen some wonderful images from A100 2.8 macro and it is certainly one of my favorite lenses. I had a great time with it in Australia and here are two shots I was happy with when I saw them at home.
