I have just purchased 2 lenses of eeebay, the Cosina 28mm f2.8 ($40), and an off-brand 135mm f2.8 ($40).
the 135mm f2.8 is a no-name (it says Magnum on it) lens. I was wondering how good the image quality will be or if anyone has any experience with old off brand lenses. I'm not looking for the best image, but want to do some macros (with extension tubes) and cant wait to see what I can get.
Also if I wanted to use them as regular lenses, how hard is it to stop down meter? I've read something about pressing the A-E lock but am confused. I cant wait to try my new (to me) lenses!
Thanks in advance

I have a Cosina 135mm f2.8 lens and it's quite sharp, but the colors seem to differ a bit from the Pentax lenses I have for some reason.
Shooting with a manual lens is easy. Focus, choose aperture, press ae-l once and then press the shutter button and you have a picture.

Also make sure you go into the custom menu and set "Use Aperture Ring" to Allowed when you get these old manual lenses. You can leave it like that too, no need to change it back..
