Radiopoppers

Has anyone looked at the radiopoppers for off camera flash as an alternative to the wizards? I have been kinda looking at them, but was unsure if they would support pttl. So I asked to see what their plans are for supporting pentax, now this may not be ideal but it is a step forward. Below is my question and there response.

"Hey John,

Just wanted to send you a link I just found - looks as if at least one user has had good results getting the P1's to work with Pentax gear. I thought you may be interested. You're welcome to place an order and check them out. If they do not work out for whatever reason you do have 30 days to return them.

Here's the link:
F/1.0 Blog Archive Radiopoppers working with Pentax! (preliminary testing)

Thanks !!!

Comments or Questions: Just wanted to thank you for giving us other options for driving our off camera flash. I know that you are set up to run ittl and ettl, but don't forget about us over here in the pttl world of Pentax. Is there any posability that your gear will be compatible?

Let me know what you here, and what your feelings are about this system.

Thanks,

John

I'm also waiting for the Jr's. I don't really care about having p-ttl with a radio trigger. Once you get the hang of using the flash manually, I feel you can get better results than pttl.

I'm torn between the Alien Bees CyberSync, the Skyports and waiting for the JR's to show up. Price seems good for the Cybersync's and have seen some favorable reviews.

That's my blog btw :-)

I was pretty excited to see at least basic functionality with pentax.

For a more thorough testing I need to run through some things like ev comp, HSS, and rear-curtain sync to see if they all work as well...

I'll post more results when I have 'em :-)

that's great news...radiopoppers would be great for adjusting flash on the fly when the flashes are far away from you...even better if Pentax would let us group flashes together like the Nikon system.

Thanks for testing them Ed :-)

Just to repeat myself i posted this a little while ago. Since then I've shot 3 more weddings and one special event. Several thousand more images (around 3000 with a remote flash up to 3 at a time). Not one single misfire or issue. Well worth considering.
