Posts: 64 | Lens Elements Question I am seeing some Super Takumar lenses in EBAY. One of them which caught my attention is a SMC Super Takumar 135mm f/2.5 M42 mount. The seller gave the serial number, part number etc. and claims that it is the 6 elements/6 group version and presumably it is a better quality lens. A lot of people rave about that particular version of the lens (135mm f/2.5 M42 mount 6 elements version). My question is how do I make sure that it is a 6 elements version? Is there any serial number database in Pentax where you can check the version (or type) of the lens and the details? Pardon my ignorance : If I get that lens without dismantling how do I make sure that it is a 6 elements/6 groups lens? -IU |
