55-300 first trial shots

I did not have time to thoroughly test the lens (it came yesterday), but I will in couple of next days.
First impression - it definitely delivers as expected, that is, much better than similar zoom lens I used in the past (el cheapo Minolta 70-210 on film).
IQ seems to be at the same level as kit lens v II.
Please don't ask how much did I pay for it ... European prices + Croatian taxes => =(

No PP, just PEF to JPEG export.

Congrats on the purchase - enjoy the lens - I like it. Nice shots as well.

Your series is far superior than mine(I use it mostly @ telephoto) and havent yet use it for close ups,but you do have a good copy

I also use it on the tele side most of the time.
Did not understand the part about series being superior ... are you saying that my 55-300 is better than yours? It would be pitty if this nice lens suffers quality control issues too.

Thank you, I will be glad to post my experiences with this lens. I am on vacation right now, using the lens whenever I can so there should be enough material to make some conclusions when I get home, maybe even earlier.
