An interesting offer...

Hello all,

After just receiving my K20D yesterday, I spotted interesting offers on older K/screw-mount lenses on a Slovenian site, the screw-mount ones coming with an adapter to K-mount.

The following are (prices included):
- HANIMEX 2.8/28mm ... 35 EUR
- CHINON Zoom Multicoated 3.5-4.5/28-50mm ... 35 EUR
- Auto Chinon MC 1.4/50mm ... 150 EUR
- Auto REVUENON MC 1:1.4 f=50mm ... 150 EUR
- Auto Chinon Multi Coated 1.7/50mm ... 70 EUR
- RICOH XR RIKENON 1.7/50mm ... 70 EUR
- Super CARENAR 1.7/55mm ... 70 EUR
- PORST COLOR REFLEX 1.4/55mm ... 140 EUR

- REVUENON MC (58Φ) 1.2/55mm ... 470 EUR

- PORST Color Reflex MC 1.2/55mm ... 420 EUR

- AUTO REVUENON multi coated (67Φ) 1:3.5-4.5 f=35-100mm ... 40 EUR
- Osawa (Nikkor) MACRO Multi Coated 3.5-4.5/35-105mm ...145 EUR
- Super-Danubia multicoated 2.8/135mm ... 70 EUR
- Porst multicoated 2.8/135mm ... 60 EUR
- Revuenon 4.5/80-200mm ... 60 EUR
- MIRAGE ZOOM 5.6/100-200mm ... 20 EUR (works only at max aperture)
- DANUBIA 8/500mm - 140 EUR

The seller says they're mostly in very good quality, some like new, and the prices really don't seem overwhelming.
He/she also notes that the 50mm and 55mm with wide apertures at 1:1.2 and 1:1.4 are made by Tomioka.

So, what do you think?

- Nanthiel

P.S. I really like the K20. =P

Most of these lenses should provide good performance though they were all "off-brand" lenses when they were made by various Japanese optical houses. The pricing, though is nothing special and seems a little on the high side to me. (Hard to say since the market in Europe is different than the US.) For example, the XR Rikenon 50/1.7, while a good lens, can usually be purchased on *Bay for less than $50 USD. That is half what the seller is asking. The same is true of the Chinon 50/1.7 which generally would be valued less than the Rikenon.

In terms of desirable items. The Revuenon and Porst f/1.2 lenses are rumored to be the same product under different names. Both are "cult classics" and regularly command fairly high prices though 400+ Euros seems very steep to me. There is a review of this lens in the third-party lens database of this site (Click here for review).

Would anyone know if any of the mentioned lenses, apart from the two -really- expensive ones, could be of a little-above-average quality? I really need a fast lens...

And thanks for the reply. =)
