Posts: 335 | Same Deer, different lens....... ........also different days, yesterday and today. Both early am, cropped only using K100D, both shots at max zoom; first w/Tamron 18-250, second w/DA 55-300. (she stops by every am for a Cherry Tomato).  |

Posts: 335 | The 18-250 shot was 1/125th, f6.3, TV setting. The 55-300 shot was 1/350th. f5.6, Auto setting ISO for both was 400. The 55-300 pic today was about an hour later than yesterday's so lighting was a little better. To me the lenses are about equal in IQ with the advantage going to the Tamron for the 18mm 'MACRO' end outweighing the extra 50mm on the DA at long range albeit for $100 or so more......... Also if your preference for the 55-300 relates to its bokeh then I agree, but have no explanation for the difference....... Regards, JK Last edited by John Kovarik; 08-24-2008 at 08:52 PM.
