I emailed australian distributor today and they come back with it being due end of september.

assuming she is working from reasonably current info and not just the generic info put iout months ago and as we are often a little later that should mean it would be available in the US very very soon ???

Been watching for this lens in B&H. They showed it as "Due in August" for a long time. Now it shows as "Out of Stock". Don't know if that means anything or not.

Even if it was available in Australia ... it's still be $300 cheaper getting it from the US.
