I took my K10D and my *iSTD into a camera store I do business with to get the sensors cleaned and to trade in some of my older manual/auto lenses (nothing worth putting on the marketplace) as well as an older ZX-50 body. While I was talking with the owner and checking out her new C 5D, which with the Tamron 12-50 f/2.8 was very nice we got to talking about lens addiction. I told her that I had been searching for a Tamron 1.4 TC for Penax AF for the longest time and the only one to be found seem to be on fleabay for extortionist pricing.

I should have bought a lottery ticket, because she looks at me and says, you know I think I have one in the back room. Sure enough out she comes with a brand new in the box Tamron 1.4 TC. I snapped it onto my K10 with the kit lens and checked it out. The autofocus worked perfectly. So now I'm the proud owner of a new Tamron 1.4 TC and can't wait to get my bodies back from clearning so I can take it out this weekend for a test drive. I want to see what it does in combination with my 50-135.

The best part about this is that it was less than $100

, my last check of fleabay today I found one starting at $240.

Last year I bought that converter brand new from B&H, price was $49 for a brand new item. What is happening to the prices lately - is beyond my understanding!

I was happy to find it as cheap as I did. I've had a Sigma 1.4 on my wish list at Adorama and it was almost $300. I guess people have figured out that when good quality items are in demand, then folks will be willing to pay a premium for them.

I bought one on Ebay just a few days ago HERE

I saw it go up for auction, emailed the seller to see if he had a buy it now price and he added this amount. I already have the teleconverter but I figured at the amount he wanted it was worth buying as I can stick it back on Ebay and put the money I get for it towards a Pentax 1.7X

I'll be glad to add to the converter pics links as soon as I get my bodies back from cleaning. I can't wait to see what I get when I match the converter to my 50-135.

After getting a look at the Tamron17-50 I know what I'm saving my money for and will trade in my Sigma 25-70 f/2.8 to get it. The weight difference alone is worth the money.
