"Having nothing better to do I researched Soligor. Soligor was the name used by Allied Impex Corp. AIC. They like Vivitar imported lenses. They used Tokina, serial # starts 16 or 17, Kiron maybe serial #38. The C/D lenses were their attempt to compete with the Vivitar Series 1. Apparently the same lens could end up with either Vivitar or Soligor stamped on it. (Not Viv S1 or C/D)"
So, it seems your 16xxx number confirms its Tokina origin.
I've just put my Viv lens on the cam and tried again to lock the stupid T4 Stopdown-wheel thing but to no avail (some debris already stuck in the T4-mount :-). I'll give it a go full open and stopping down will be a mess for now. I'm tempted to tinker it to manual lock and an additional 3.5-stop.
This shot was probably not full open, maybe f4 or 5.6 on K100D,

Never thought I'd gotten warm with a Tokina lens .-)

I've got a Soligor C/D lens, but its serial number is 9910096. Any ideas who made this one?
