Of course, he would be happy to test for image quality before dropping approx. $10,000 US on it (price has not been set, that's a guess on his part)...

Unfortunately he shoots with Canon, but that won't stop me from checking that behemoth out...

Cheers,

OH my aching back!

Just think, you won't need image stabilization, this is so heavy it will be impossible to move at any significant rate of speed.

Yeah. Instead, hand stablisation is more needed for this lens

That lens is amazingly huge. I am dreaming this lens for birding!

Suddenly the 'BIGMA' doesn't look quite so big.
500mm at 2.8 is quite something. It certainly puts the Bigma's 6.3 at 500mm in perspective.

They don't say how much this behemoth costs but i'm guessing it's well into 4-figures and probably $4-5k at least. Well boys..... best get saving

I tried my friends Bigma and my back was already aching in less than an minute from picking up the lens+camera. I was just holding it, not dangling it off my neck of anything.

omg the price of the lens is probably so high that a free camera (SD10 or the new SD14) offer ain't going to dent profit.

I've seen some interesting nicknames for this thing.

Sig-Zilla
Sig-Pig
Sig-Cannon
Sig-Mega-Monster

I really have to wonder if this will even come in K Mount...

Wow, looks more like a block of metal than a lens...

If you look closely and the picture on Sigma's site, you can tell that it's mounted on a K10D!

It should be quite obvious to anyone with a modest knowledge of artistic background that the original concept for this lens was lifted from the Beatles Yellow Submarine picture. I see law suits on this one
