Pentax SMCPDA 16-45mm Zoom f/4.0 ED/AL
Hello, hello.
I finally bought my first DSLR, opting for the k100d so as to purchase a better lens, the Pentax 16-45mm. I have heard good things, (hasn't arrived yet) but what are the negatives? Does anyone have any useful info for points I should avoid with this lens? Glad to be here!

The 16-45 is a considerable jump in quality from the kit lens. It's a professional grade lens, and for a zoom it has low distortion and little flare. In fact, it's one of the few zooms that I'd use on a job.
