I didn't even notice until I ran my checks for the headline act Simple Minds, when I realised I really feared the worse & thought I had lost the Deacon Blue set.
When I saw them on the ciomputer I was amazed how clear they where. I guess thats due to the excellence of the Samsung sensor.
I'm a bit concerned that egigs want to keep all copyright of photos! I was going to work with them but I'm not giving my copyright away. They can use the photos on their site and publish them and use them for promotion but giving them the copyright means they can sell them. Meaning they can make money on photos you took for free!
Just checked my statistics & the majority of my shots are done at 34mm using Tamron 17-50mm.
I do tend to shoot more smaller venues
I'd say your focal length preference says more about your compositional preferences than the size of the venues. I'm guessing you tend to go for full body shots, or perhaps pictures showing more than musician, as opposed the head & torso shots that one normally would want a 50-135 for.

Actually, if I were you I'd be thinking hard about the FA35/2.
I also have the DA*16-50. On the K100D, it consistently mis-focuses, back focuses, front focuses, soft focuses... just not SHARP focus. It was frustrating cuz the picture turned out great but the focus would be off or something. On the K200D, the DA*16-50 now smartens up. I think the SAFVOX AF on the K200D is more well tuned for the DA*16-50 as the DA* lens now takes sharp pictures and only messes up due to user/photographer's error!
So if you have the K100D and plan to use it for a while longer, buy the DA*50-135 (But test it first) and upgrade your body before going for a DA* 16-50.
Funny, I have a k100D and K20D, and both DA* zooms. The 16-50 is almost always on the K100D since it focuses perfectly and is much more sharper on it than on the K20D... the 50-135, well it's tack sharp on any model!
Anyway, back to topic, the 50-135 is great for concert photography. Paired with a K20D, perfect! In fact a fellow photog who used my cam + lens combo once, together with his D300 + 28-70(?)/2.8 combo was blown away! He now borrows my cam+lens at gigs whenever I perform since it blows his D300 away! (Maybe it's the photog, I don't know... but still... score one for Pentax!) Here are some samples:

I had the chance to play with a borrowed k20d and was amazed! I currently have a k10d and am putting off upgrading until the k30d or whatever is will be is out and I'll get that.
People say the same about my photos so I think pentax may have a streak here.

Good idea to wait for the K30, since I'm sure it's just a few months away... I'll be holding on to my K20D till it conks out or the K50D comes out, whichever comes first...
The same photographer friend of mine likes the output of my K10D before too, but found its focus hunting in low-light irritating (as did I)... I swear, despite using the same AF system, the K20D focus a bit faster in low light...
