200mm/f4 M42 dismantle question

Hi Guys
I have acquired a super multi coated Takumar 200mm f4 M42 that has been in the wars.
It has a slightly bent aperture pin, iris operates only to 5.6 and a rattle
I can get the front off easily but no idea how to get into the back end.
If anyone could give me some tips I'd be very appreciative

cheers
Pete

The M42 Takumars that I have taken apart all start from the front. The general procedure is:
- "name" ring unscrews via filter threads, grip with whatever rubber tool that fits
- remove three screws holding filter ring
- remove three screws holding focus ring, long screwdriver may be required
- remove the aperture ring, being ready to catch the ball bearing that makes it click

If you got the front off easily, you might be at the focus ring step already.

Now you'll see the lens body and should see some way to get the mount end detached. Usually there are 3 screws into the side of the lens body.

When you remove the focus ring, you'll have to reset the lens for infinity focus when you reassemble. This means:
- install focus ring with only one tight screw
- mount lens on camera, mount camera on tripod, point at distant object
- focus lens to infinity and check viewfinder. If you're not incredibly lucky, loosen the tight screw and adjust focus ring position a bit. Repeat until infinity focus is correct.
