Hi,
I just found this
h??p://www.amazon.com/Pentax-55mm-Standard-Digital-Cameras/dp/B001GAPHRE/ref=sr_1_20?ie=UTF8&s=electronics&qid=1233604904&s r=1-20
Wow It would only would cost me $ 947.03 CND . For a standard prime 50 mm lens. I have to stick with my USED M-42 lenes. That way I can have food and shelter and have way more lenes to choose from.

Same thoughts. I am sure it will be a great lens, but at the price announced, there's a total of 6 people in the whole world who are willing to actually buy it.
SDM, Quick shift and weather sealing are all mighty damn nice to have, but I have a hard time swallowing that the DA*55/1.4 is $565.00 better than the FA 50/1.4. I paid $15.00 less for my DA*50-135. It'll be interesting to see how long that price holds at any rate.
In a similar thread the other day, several forum members tried to spank me for suggesting that the price was too high, and took issue with my comment that Pentax would sell "tens of them" at that price.
I'm very happy to see that at least some forum members agree with me! After all, we are talking about a standard focal length prime. Yes, SDM and all of the other goodies are great, but the market for such a lens must be very small. I think that $450 will be the ultimate price point for this lens.
Still, if someone wanted to loan me one to "test", I wouldn't object!
Let me think mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm no, no thanks naaaaa, not ever in my life. My wife wouldn't let me. My kids need new coats and boots. I have to save my money for an operation. I need more film, paper, a converter for my Ricoh KR-5 Super II for M42 lenses. I think that pretty well is my answer. dncswclds
