LBA: Vivitar 24mm f2.0 PK-A

Did anyone else see this on eBay? I was only the second bidder, and at a whole different price category than the Pentax FA. It's built by Komine. It's a bit smaller than the Kiron 24mm f2 or Vivitar-Kiron 28mm f2, which both take 55mm filters. Focus throw is about 90º, same as the Kiron 24mm. Minimum focus distance is 1 foot/0.3 meters. Here is a photo:

Now I have to do some testing to compare this lens to the Kiron and my Sigma 24mm f2.8 PKA.

What? That's a great find! I've had eBay email me everything with "24mm Pentax" in it for months and never saw this one--good on you!

A 24mm f/2! Don't even WANT to know how much it was

I'm taking that you got this cheap? If it was under $100, then you scored!

I have a Kiron 24mm f/2 (Kiron branded) and it's a bit soft wide open, but still quite useable. I'd like to see what results you get with your Komine version.

I also have a Vivitar (Komine) 28mm f/2 and it's a great lens, so I expect your 24mm to follow suit.

I just saw what you paid for it. Well done! That was a great deal. Isn't there a thumbs-up emoticon...?

I don't quite understand my luck, but I'm not giving it back either. My maximum bid was quite high for me but with no one else bidding, that doesn't count.

Are we sure that's not the Ricoh K/A mount, with the pin?

Yes, it is definitely a KA lens and works properly.

I have had the Sigma 24mm f2.8 PKA MF for a long time. I knew it had a good reputation but had nothing except the kit lens to compare. Now I have three 24mm primes. My quick sharpness test seems to show that the Sigma is sharper at all apertures, the Kiron 24mm f2 is second and this Vivitar/Komine is third. The Sigma is a pretty nice lens.
