Super Takumar useful in Av

Just read about 28mm/3.5 Super Takumar lens in the database
people sounded pretty impressed

Yes, I agree--impressive 28mm. I have one which is like new, need to use it more--such a beautiful lens. Been in my family since new. I like the simplicity of the Faststone software too.

I wonder why I'm rarely blown away by mine. I think the short focus throw just annoys me to no end and denies me the pleasure I get from my other taks. I much prefer the 35mm. More usable.

Eh maybe one day I'll warm up to it. Just like stopping down the aperture. I used to be annoyed by that but now I don't mind it at all.

Hmmm...the M 28mm lens has a rather short throw as well so maybe its something common among 28mm Pentax lenses.

Back in the days they were used as wide angle lenses, which I guess is mostly focused to infinity, so it makes sense to design the lens this way. Oh well, goota live with it. I'll try to stick to this lens for 3 days and see how I feel about it.

Edit: after 3 days I feel that indoors, I still hate this lens. Outdoors its amazing though so I'm keeping it for now ;p
