They are quite long, but being f/8 they aren't all that heavy. I would like to try one. Buy it for me, and I'll test it for you. Of course it will be no good, but that's life ...

Would $180.00 be a good deal?

Hell yeah, even if it didn't work. It would be worth it for bragging rights and the occasional dropping of "my Takumar 1000mm" into a post. If it's functional you could probably sell it for at least double.

There were two versions of the Takumar 1000mm, a 3 element version and a 5 element version.

The 3 element version has a minimum aperture of f22 while the 5 element version has a minimum aperture of f45, the 3 element version weighs three times as much as the 5 element version.

If it is the Tele-Takumar, it should be the 5 element version.

For either of them, just on rarity alone, $180 is a bargain.

Well, fellas...

It is a Tele-Takumar and it sits on the dining room table. $200.00. Looks to be in fine condition, though I have yet to really go through it. Got the hard case.

Massive understates how large this thing it. I was floored when I saw it, larger than I expected.

Bah! I was going to grab that one, but I guess you got to it before me. Craigslist, Cary, NC?

Oh well. Have fun with it!

Yea. Gotta move fast... Right in your back yard, too. I had to drive quite a way.

This is the f45 version.
