DA*300mm f/4 + f 1.7x Converter

I did a search and came up empty. I have a new DA*300 f/4 and an F 1.7x converter. The EXIF in ACR and LR2 is not showing the focal length of the lens. Also the AF hunts all over the place probably because of the max aperture of f/6.7. Anyone else having this combo having these problems or am I special? Suggestions, commiserations?

Well, I Googled the TC and it turns out that there are 7 contacts on the TC's KAF mount and only 6 on the lens' KAF2 mount. The 7th contact transmitted the focal length and other data to the body, so no focal length on my K20D.

Hello,

I regularly use this combo without any problem. It may hunt a bit under low light conditions, but it has never been problematic to me and I also get good image quality. About the exif data, my picture files indicate "500 mm" for the wavelength (in fact, that's the wavelength I entered for the image stabilization system when I opened the camera).

Thanks David. I'll give that a try.
