Lens choices - Need Help.

Im on the process of selecting a lens for wedding this coming November.

I'll be getting a K20D and will be selling my IstDL along with the DA 16-45. My lens choices are the following:

Sigma 24-70 f2.8
or
Sigma 70-200 II EX APO DG MACRO HSM AF.

I know its like comparing an orange to an apple but I'll be using the lens for a wedding this coming november.

My main concern is the AF. I need fast AF especially in low light. The HSM seems nice based on reviews. But the 24-70 is much flexible as compared to the 70-200.

Any thoughts? Anyone of you has experienced using the lenses listed above?

I would really appreciate your comments. I'll be getting them by the end of october and I can only afford 1 lens. Im thinking of getting DA 50-135, but can't afford it yet.

Just one lens for a wedding?
Neither is optimal to be the one and only lens you have for the event, but if I'm picking one it will be the 24-70. You can at least get close up to your subjects, but with the 70-200 you'll find it difficult getting far enough away from them to capture what you want...

Yep. Only 1 lens. Done it before with only a 16-45 f/4. My client was really happy with the results. Hmm.. The 70-200 is really quite big but really good for me inside the church. but in group shots.. I'll be a dead meat with it. I guess your right bout getting the 24-70mm... I really have a great deal. Hopefully my funds will arrive early as expected before it is sold.

I've had both. They are both excellent, but 70-200 is on another level. Should have kept mine, best long zoom I've ever used. I'd get that and a M28 F3.5 and M50 F1.7. The M lenses should run no more than $125 combined.

The 16-45 is not ideal for portraiture IMO. Too short and f/4 may not be able to separate the subject from the background effectively enough.

A 50-100mm focal length flattens perspective and renders facial features more naturally. And at least a f/2.8 maximum aperture gives you more low-light ability without the need for flash as well as being able to isolate your subject better.
