Loosing my Bearings

I managed to drop the small ball bearing that does the clicks on the aperture ring. Not easy to find in a long pile carpet!

Anyone have an idea of the size of these so I can order some?

I don't know what size they are, but if you know the general area where it may have fallen you could try using a large powerful magnet to pick it up.

Terry,

Drop me a PM with you snail mail address. I'll mail you some tomorrow.

They may not fit perfectly, but you have nothing to lose (BTW, "loosing" should be "losing").

^ that, or check micro-tools.com. They have bearings in their stock, different sizes, $1 for a 5-pack, and shipping is reasonable as well.

Thanks so much, PM sent. I know I'm not the best speller in the world. English seems like a second language to me sometimes.

So you really don't have a good excuse for the spelling, just for a west country accent. Only real excuse is dyslexia, (at least that’s my reason and I’m sticking to it)

I lost the ball-bearing when I tried to convert a Soligor 200mm f/2.8 form auto-mount to manual diaphragm and I learned it for OneMoreDave in PF to get several size ball bearings from micro-tools

It is inexpensive to get, micro-tools sell a bag of 5 to 10 for a buck or two. When I manage to get the exact size, I will update you again.

Thanks,
Hin

Direct links from microtools on three ball bearings that I ordered before:

1.2mm
Ball Bearings, 1.2mm Package of 5 - Part #: BB-1-2M

1.5mm --- the most likely one in my case
Ball Bearings, 1.5mm Package of 5 - Part #: BB-1-5M

1.7mm -- the least likely one in my case
Ball Bearings, 1.7mm Package of 5 - Part #: BB-1-7M

They cost $1.00 for a bag of 5 ball bearings of one size. If you have not ordered anything from Micro-Tools, think of considering ordering needed stuff that can help you a long way especially in sensor dust cleaning:

Thanks,
Hin
