From the picture, it looks like the M42 screw mount, I used to own the Vivitar 28mm f/2.5 in K-mount from Kiron with serial #22. In k-mount, I need to trim the extra flange sleeve in order t fit into K20D or the like. With a screw mount, you won't have that problem and Av mode can be used directly.

There are other 28mm that are better than this lens. Namely, the 28mm from Komine that is close-focus in f/2.8 or faster and some Kiron version of 28mm inf f/2.0 but you have to watch out for Kiron branded lens with oily blades that have been reported by few discussion threads.

For the above lens, I don't run into oily deposit problems and I would watch for the price range for $5 to $40 and anything over $50 is not that much of a bargain in my book unless a mint copy with lens hood

I'd guess so. Thanks, just got it off ebay Got the Vivitar for less than $20 shipped so I got it.
