Sigma 50-150 and Pentax 50-135

I cannot find the Sigma 50-150 f/2.8 in the lens review database.
How does it compare to the Pentax DA* 50-135 f/2.8?

I think moving_comfort has the Sigma. IIRC, the Sigma is as sharp as the 50-135 up to 135 but is less sharp between 135 and 150...

I swapped my 70-200mm for the 50-150mm (mostly to save on size/weight), and have been really happy with it.

I've never owned a 50-135mm so can't compare, nor do I do objective pixel-peeping tests of my lenses - so my opinion is very subjective.

But I am happy with how sharp it is through out the range - though usually stopped down a bit (f4) when at 150mm if I want it tack sharp.

how does that even make sense?
by saying "less sharp than the 50-135 lens between 135-150mm", you're comparing the sharpness of a focal range that the Pentax lens can't even reach.

I took that to mean the 135-150 range on the Sigma is less sharp than IT's OWN 50-135 range focal range. Yet, still as sharp as the Pentax in the focal range it does share.

I've heard the complete opposite. Sigma's HSM is faster and more accurate than Pentax's SDM.

I have both. I bought the 50-150mm just to see if there was much difference.
IMO the Pentax lens wins on IQ and weather sealing but the Sigma has faster AF .. and the IQ is not far behind if I'm honest.

The Sigma is currently on Ebay.

This was taken with the 50-150mm on my K10D wide open at f2.8
