f 1.2

I've just acquired a 50mm 1.2 lens, which will find its homes on my K20D and also on my various film cameras. Does anyone have any good advice and/or warnings about using this beauty?

Shoot it wide open a whole bunch and don't clean the glass too much, you won't see those specks of dust.

Enjoy!

focus bracket, the mini viewfinders in the DSLRs aren't good enough to guarantee focus
confirm with your eye and also the focus confirmation point and even then it's no guarantee
any slight shift in your movement for closeup objects will throw off the DOF

seriously, some patience while using it at wide open. try using focus trap. if you want to maximize it's sharpness all over, use it at f8 or f11.

much ideal for use on film due to bigget and brighter VF, means much easier than using it on digital slr.

Youngster has a good technique here:
My Technique for Manual Focus Lenses

In addition to that, using live view is great on the K20. The green hexagon gives you an idea of where it's in focus, but it's more of an acceptable range than exact focus.
