Petri MC 28mm f/2 - what to expect?

On my quest for a fast normal lens I found this one:
Petri MC 28mm f2 fast wide made in Japan to fit PENTAX bei eBay.de: For 35mm SLR (endet 20.11.09 16:27:58 MEZ)

Now this isn't really expensive but still I don't want to waste my money like that.
Unfortunately this lens seems to be so rare I only got 2 hits on the whole internet.

What I found: It is probably made by Cosina and it is and was a lower class lens.

Does anybody know how it performs?

How does the price show?
Not sharp until f/5.6
low contrast
hideous bokeh
high CAs and flares
ghosting
cheap build
...?

As you can see I already have the M 3.5/28 and while this lens is very decent it is too slow. The 16-50 is too slow either. What I'm looking for is an equivalent to the fast fifty for APS-C. So wide open use is the most important, for everything else I have the 3.5/28 and the 16-50.

Thanks.

Don't know anything about the Petri lens.

But if you are looking for a fast 28mm the Kiron/Komine/Vivitar 28mm f/2 lenses could be something (there are several versions covered in a thread here on the forums, someone surely has a link...). They are supposed to be reasonably sharp.

I have one of the Kiron built versions and it's a nice lens. Quite heavy distortion wide open but fun to use.

I know that it isn't the same, however I did some research into a Petri 135mm f2.8 the other day.
It appeared as though they're lenses aren't too bad, however they're nothing special.

If your just looking for a decent, wide, low light lens at an affordable price it's probably a good investment. However, if your looking for something for the studio or gallery quality photos you may wish to keep looking.

I know the Vivitar lenses are normally much better. But finding these is hard. There are masses of its f/2.8 versions on ebay but hardly anything "better" - some f/2.5 lenses. But these are neither fast enough nor said to be that good.
There is one dealer that has these Kiron and sometimes Komine-made Vivitars 28mm f/2.0 lenses - for $225 (or even €, I'm no sure) and is also in the US...

Only once in the past I think five months ago there was the Vivitar Close focus wide angle f/2.0 lens made by Komine with A-contact - which I didn't bought because I thought it was too expensive - which it wasn't.

Besides this Vivitar which rarely exists there is the Cosina MC Cosinon-W 28mm f/2.0 which can be had for £69
Cosina 28mm f2 lens, Pentax K fit, mint- bei eBay.de: For 35mm SLR (endet 26.11.09 22:38:31 MEZ)
or $399,99

But actually I don't think it is worth that much. £69/77€/$115 for a probably mediocre lens.
The Petri is said to be made by Cosina so there shouldn't be a huge difference between these. And remember, the Petri can be had for a little more than 50€ shipped.

The two lenses I really want are simply too expensive: there is the FA Limited...no, let's stop here - perhaps in a wealthy future and the Sigma 24 or 28mm f/1.8. Where even the old version sold for 160€.

I know there allegedly is the Pentax M 2/28 but first I've never seen one and second I doubt this lens will sell for a realistic price.
