K-01 video mode thread

Ok I just looked at the hands on video and he said it has manual control in video mode so I will be getting it as soon as it's available to use my Pentax k-mount lenses from 6.5mm to 2350mm along with my Rode Stereo Video Mic.

I just ordered the yellow K-01 body from B&H so I hope it has video manual control of iso and shutter speed like my GH2 and GH1 along with aperture control that is on my K-7.

Not gonna jump into it and buy it immediately. Smart thing to do is wait for some good reviews to come out and then decide to buy it or not. But already two things make me hesitate to buy it - no onboard evf and its relatively large size [almost if not as big as a dslr]. and i certainly will not buy that embarassing yellow color version of it ever! Even if its the last camera on earth!

I very seldom use the EVF in my Panasonic GH2, GH1, TM700, Canon SX30 IS and 99% of videos are shot using the LCD. I have used my K-7 since July 2009 mostly in video mode and guess what I used. Is there a better body out there to shoot HD video with K-mount lenses ?

There is full manual control in video mode !

I've used the camera, and there is full manual control in video mode. It just needs to be enabled in the menu and the dial must be set to 'M'. Then you can control shutter speed, aperture, ISO, audio levels, and white balance.

I am looking at it as a Video and High iso option (since I shoot with a K7) I'm sure the K5 replacement will implement the video but will also cost me twice as much as this camera. I'm waiting until closer to summer though to buy (and if the announce a K300 (KR replacement with the K-01 features and WR) then i would opt for a different camera (there has been K30/300 rumours as Kr replacement if it's 2 models the 300 would make sense as a 200 type model)

The Video feature here seem to cover all the bases (for me at least)

Yes there is, and if you re-map your red button, you can easily toggle it on and off. There is also AF in video mode.
