UNless you have to use it at work, why not download firefox, Flock, Opera, Chrome, or any other browser that is free? All IMHO are better than IE. I was actually a person that wouldn't switch for a long time because IE tended to work fine, but little glitches like yours are a great reason to switch! Plus, I've found having more than one browser on the PC is useful. My wife uses Firefox, I use flock and IE is there for guest. Keeps all our stuff separate and works like a dream!
I have a different opinion than you on IE which I won't get into here - this is not the proper forum. And yes I've tried Firefox, Flock, Opera, Chrome, etc - don't care for each for a variety of reasons. But, thanks for your input anyway.

Best,
John

Thank you, this makes it easier to check out the forum quickly when I'm at work.

Thank you so much for adding an option to disable to mobile skin. Although I could really see how some mobile users would really benefit from it, I really missed the full skin on the iPhone.

You're welcome!

I'll be roaming a lot other the coming months with my BlackBerry, and the mobile skin reduces data usage by about 80%, which will definitely come in handy!

OK, now i've got a problem. how do i undo the mobile skin?

doesn't seem to be an option from the mobile CP. I could just be missing something, I'll look around again while I wait for a reply.

You'll have to either log on from a PC and switch the preference back, or change your mobile device's useragent string (which you can't do on an iPhone, as far as I'm aware) to something a PC would use.

Hmmm, Ok, i thought I set the preference in my user CP on the main computer and then it figured out if I had a phone browser. I have a Palm Pre, same screen res, and webkit based browser as the iPhone, although it does a better job rendering pages.

looks like I am screwed. I will log into it on the phone (which I am not sure if I have done) and see if I can reset it. I guess I did it backwards, logging in and changing it to Mobile skin via the PC prerences so it thinks my PC browser is mobile. As of now, only the mobile site is available on my PC, which is annoying because I have an ad for the BG-2 Grip up that has been sold, but for some reason I cannot find the ad on the mobile (might be beyond pg 2 or who knows) and people keep saying, "we'll if it's sold why don't you put it in the sold items..."

So you changed your skin preference to 'Mobile Skin', instead of using the yes/no option for the mobile skin? Bad idea!

Use the link below on your PC to revert to the green skin, and then change your User CP skin preference back, as well as setting the mobile skin preference to 'Yes.'

Yep, boneheaded but it is fine now. I was able to change it on the pre , and now it's fine on the PC.

I have to check if the yes option works on the Pre, I think servers read it as a full HTML device (which is is, same res screen as the iPhone) but having a netbook and of course a home PC, i'm not one of those people that needs the full version on my phone.

If you can find the useragent string of the palm pre, I'll add it to our mobile device detection system.

adam,

i'm not sure if this request was suggested yet but under user CP, could you default it to subscribed forums similar to the regular website?

Ah, I see. I'll consider adding this functionality later on, although it isn't currently included by design.

I really like the mobile skin. Definitely makes it a lot easier to read the forums. The only issue I have come across is that the [imgwide] tag is not properly supported. You get the "Click on the..." caption, but there is no way to view the image.
