From 1am until 4am CDT tomorrow, Saturday, October 10th, maintenance will be performed on our server that should increase processing and transfer capacities. During this time, PentaxForums.com will not be accessible.
We apologize in advance for the inconvenience, but look forward to the improved hardware following the maintenance!
Edit: Maintenance will also be carried out on Sunday, October 11th, from 1am to 4am CDT.
Likely around 6PM EST we will be conducting another file transfer, over to a new machine, in fact. Thus, while there will be no site downtime, I will likely have to close the forums briefly.
Once this is over, we should be all done with maintenance and downtime. I will then follow up with an announcement detailing exactly what upgrades have been done!
The file transfer over to the new machine is now complete. For the next 24 hours, there will be some problems with the website, mainly due to the fact that the DNS changes will take a while to come into effect.
Until the DNS is back to normal, the forum will only be accessible at the IP address, rather than the pentaxforums.com domain. Also, URLs will appear crude rather than keyword-rich.
I thought of that earlier today, and in fact the old IP will actually be used in addition to the new one once I take the old server offline, which I'll be doing on Sunday morning.
However, why can't you just use the new IP on DPR?
Also, note that the pretty URLs should come back online together with the domain (this is because our license for the URL-rewrite software is based on the domain).
I'm guessing that the switch in IP address from 74.86.168.180 to 208.43.7.194 will make our workaround at DPR no longer valid.
May I ask what the workaround is about?
I mainly wanted to report that email notifications now contain URLs of the form "http://208.43.7.194/forums/showthread.php?..." but it seems to be a known (temporary) problem.
