Winter Rose

Looking for all comments/critiques on these. Which do you prefer the upright version or side view version? Why? Thanks in advance for all who take the time to comment/critique.

I love the sideways version-upright is too centered in the frame. Great shot!

the second one is great good job.
Now let me ask you something did you add that water or did it fall from the sky?

It looks like the picture was taken with the rose in the vertical position. Looking at the water droplets they seem thickest or heaviest on the bottom in that picture and are definitely running down towards the stem (darn gravity ). In the horizontal position the water droplets look to be running sideways. If the rose was placed in the horizontal position and then sprayed with water it would look more natural as that pose.

But let me add - it is a very nice picture! The water gives the rose depth and life.

Rich colors. I do like the water effect on the upright. If cropped without the stem it might work sideways.

I like the sideways version but something just didn't seem right. I couldn't put my finger on it till I read J.Scott's reply.
The upright pic is beautiful, gorgeous red's. The white portion of the bokeh is a bit distracting to me but I'm nitpicking here.
Great photo!

Well to answer your questions .. The rose is naturally horizontal and the water droplets are what was left from a combination of overnight rain and coooooooold conditions. So the water was naturally there as well. I took the picture in the morning light.
Thanks again for all the comments.
