The image and the PP'ing lloks good Gaelen, no changes needed. You nailed all the things that needed to be fixed and didn't overdo anythign. I'm not seeing any artifacts so the sharpness is spot on and the colours looks so bright and happy! Congrats Gaelen on another great shot.

This one is better. You still have a dust spot dead center.

I'd also PP out the people, and probably crop tighter to get rid of the school buses, and probably get rid of the license plate.

I enjoy shooting football games; however, at my 11-year-old's games, the backgrounds are generally terrible because he plays on High School practice fields. If you look at good shots of sporting events, the background enhances the mood and feeling of the shot - be it a roaring crowd, a cheering sideline - but always the background should not distract from the main image. So yes, you are somewhat limited by the venue and the participants, which you and I will still shoot because we enjoy it, but it will be difficult to produce truly spectacular images.

Thanks chris, you were very helpful with those techniques. Now to add them to the pictures I take (sadly that's about 100 per event that I keep)

I had thought about taking the people out but that was after the fact, so next time I'll get more into it. This little excersise was more for the car than anything.

Ya the background in those kind of situations is very hard to control, but we do our best and fix what we can.
