My Rainy Apples.. :)

I posted this in the main section and then took feedback from there to try and enhance the following photos... How did I do???

300 MM. 1/250, ISO 200 plus cropped and sharpened.

300 MM, 1/60, ISO 800, plus cropped and sharpened.

I really concentrated on the droplets, with making them clearer..

The composition and colors are great in the first, but I think the edges are way too soft for the photo to stand out. I really like how the red apple contrasts with the yellow leaf, and the effect the water droplets give, though- this would make for a great macro shot, assuming you can come outside in that rain!

IMO, #2 just isn't a good shot. Try to stay away from ISO 800 or even 400 for artistic shots such as these

Thanks for the tips on the ISO... I will remember that ...

When you mention this shot being a macro shot... it wasn't taken as a macro shot... It was cropped down to what it is now...

I know with the montly contest there was a question on the ratio numbers.... so I guess my question is.. (just hit me over the head.. lol) What makes this a "macro" shot. It wasn't taken as such... it was taken at 300M at about 4 or 5 ft... just when I thought I understood it... ...

thanks for the feedback...

#1 would have worked if the droplets at the bottom had been in focus. And perhaps with a slightly different angle so that the twig would have been less dominant.

Thanks Ole for that recommendation... I would of never thought about that silly stem being in the way until you mentioned it... It would make a better picture without that in there..

Thanks !!
