I like the shot a lot for a few reasons. The colours are great. The exposure is perfect, no blown spots and nothing too dark. DOF looks nice as well with the background nice and soft. I'd say the WB is where it should be.
But (Yeah you knew I'd say that) this is a critique right? The head is almost dead center. It's a common problem with many shots. The rule of thirds shouldn't be rigid but in many cases it makes sense. The tendancy is to spot focus or be concentrating on the central subject and put it in the middle of the shot. The space on the right is mostly blank and does not add much to the shot. Here's an example of what I mean:

So the point is not to necessarily get closer with the crop but to move the head to the right side. So it's a case of when getting ready to shoot, composing the image the best way you can. I realize that time is limited with something like this but it's worth trying to remember.
