My Boy!

About a week ago a new challenge came into my life....
Now I'm learning about how to take family photos especially when the little one doesnt really want to sit still.
Have a look and tell me if these work in their various stages of PP.
I have never been to confident with my portraits so any advice is welcome!

I think you did a nice job, baby skin tone can be problematic, especially if they just gave up the ole "9-month lease" and moved out. The newer they are the harder it is to get good tones....you did a fine job, certainly a cute kid and these photos will provide lasting memories.

Thanks for the comments.
I did clone out a few small scratches in his cheek but that was all.
Just cant decide whether I like the first variation of the shot. I was after a bit of a "lomoish" feel.

You have a beautiful boy, happy father's day.

I think the treatment on first one is too harsh. The third one is very nice. If I were you, I'd keep it natural, no lomo. Years from how, you will appreciate those little details.

I find the ear cut off half way distracting. Either retake the shot, or crop tighter.

Light source is from the head and back, the hair is nicely lit while leaving most of the face in the shadow. A slight reposition should do wonders.

I prefer the second, not really sure why as they are both nice enough. It think he looks more innocent in the last one... haha

The third one if fantastic. The colors and skin tones are just right.

Congrats on the new addition. Being a new dad is so joyous. As they get older it turns into joyous frustration.

Not only did you do well on the 3rd shot, the entire production effort involved in producing such a beautiful baby was well done.
Congratulations.

Pick any one of the three, show it to a grandparent, and that will be the best one...I guarantee it!

I like the 3rd one best. I think it's a great capture, and the 3rd version is beautifly PPed. Well done...
