MR-2 Photoshoot

Here's a few pix I took using my car as the subject. I've been practicing automotive photography for the last few months, trying to get that magazine style feel. I've made progress from when I've first started out in April(when I first started learning strobism as well), but I feel like something still is a little off. Please give me your input(good or bad) so I can acknowledge my strengths/weaknesses and work from there.

Equipment for this shoot:
Pentax K10D
Tamron 70-300mm F4-5.6 DI Macro
Sigma EF-500 DG Super
Sunpak 422D
3x Tripods
GI wireless trigger and receivers.

I havent read much auto magazines myself, but I find the background in the third photo distracts quite a bit from the car itself. I find that the second and fourth shots are the most magazine-ish, because the background doesnt distract as much the third shot. It looks to me like you're trying to isolate the car from its environment in the third shot, but I dont find that it works too well. The cars being in their environment like in 2nd and 4th works well, though.

Cant comment much on the first other that it looks a bit too poster-y for me.

I like the second the best personally, I would suggest cleaning up that car at the back with clone though =)

I tend to like a lower angle (like photo 1 or even lower) when shooting something akin to a muscle car. It emphasizes the bigger than life quality. I have a friend who owns a MAACO franchise and I'd like to go in and do some shooting straight out of the oven. I may bring a backdrop to avoid the business that the previous commentator pointed out.
