Help me improve a baby pic

Ok, I know, some of you do not like baby pics, others dislike selective saturation etcetera. But all the same I request for help. Please help me getting this image better. As you can see, this little baby is sound asleep. He's a son of a friend of mine and I want to give her something special.

I wanted to do something with that dreamy atmosphere. Did I succeed? Is this better than a normal/straight shot? And if you like it: which effect do you prefer?

Thanks in advance!

Hmmm, they are beautiful photos and the colour is nice, but the transition between saturation and the greyed out areas is a bit harsh and noticeable, i would have made it more subtle and to fade throughout the whole picture, if you understand.

Either way, they are beautiful photos without the processing so you probably shouldnt worry too much

Try rotating the first one so that the baby is facing up.

That will make the light come from the down side. Won't that be disturbing?

I am a fan of black & whites with people, so I believe the last shot you posted, is the best.

less is so much more with little people
