In order to go further on my learning curve and get better at what I like the best in photography (Street shooting and portrait) I decided to start a themed serie.
Since I'm not a pro, I decided to take opportunity of what I see when communting to work. So I decided to shoot the Bohemian (most likely Romanian) that you can see and hear in Paris metro.
Here is the first selection, that I have after a few month of shooting. So far it has been a great exercice for having the courage of taking picture of unkown people, framing, get the right moment (usually, I have time only to take 2-3 pictures) and post-processing (to give a common feeling to the serie)
I hope you'll enjoy it. Comments and critics welcomed.
Wow - the first one is really amazing! Great candid shot-always so much nicer when your candid subject isn't smiling for the camera
(and really makes me more impatient for my 31mm to get here!!!!)
I really like the first and last ones best. I think the framing in the others feels too much like a snap shot. This is probably a result of working in a confined area that is moving no less.
Yes the framing is difficult since I'm only 1-2 m away for the people I shoot, and the space is usually very crowded. (It's subway after all)
When I take pictures, they know that I take it so it's not really candid, but I never had any remark about it. It helped me feel much better when taking my camera in public.
Anyway, still a work in progress. If you want to see the serie in full res, go to my flikr.
