Need some portfolio advice
ISO: ---   Aperture: ---   Shutter Speed: ---   Camera: K20D   Focal Length: varied

Hello,
I've taken a bunch of shots, created a online gallery and I'm wondering what photos are worth keeping and which ones are not worth the space

my website is North Raven Photography by Adam Paul- powered by SmugMug

I would appreciate if I could get a critique on my work
Thank you
Adam

Sorry there are way too many shots for someone to provide useful comments on. Perhaps you can choose one per day.
I will say this: your white balance seems off on a lot of shots.
Is your workflow color managed?

Adam, like Miguel said, there are too many to critique.
I have some advice for you. If you are intending your site to be commercial, that is you want to make some money out of your photography, only put pictures on your site that you are sure about. Two quality pictures are better than twenty mixed quality pictures.
Also the shots on your site seem so random, some cohesiveness and better organisation would be more professional looking.
Finally, don't put on your site what you won't do, it's a big negative. Make clear what services you do provide and accept that you will get the occasional call for services that you will turn down.

Interesting comments.
I need to learn more about WB, I have a grey card so I guess I should use it. I rely on the camera too much. What do you mean by color managed workflow. I use Lightroom, but edit one photo at a time...sporadically, on a 13" macbook monitor.

I wish I knew which shots were good that I was sure about. Many of those I like or I wouldn't put them up. My biggest issue in life is my sporadic interests. I can pretty much do anything and it shows in my photography, one day I'm doing landscapes, the next wildlife, the next fine art, then investigative. I don't know how to organize to show that...any ideas?

Thank you for your help so far though

Adam,

I think what Gary is trying to say is that you do have some images that can be categorized (i.e. landscapes, seascapes, cityscapes, historical, etc.).

You may aso want to investigate a hand held light meter (I use a Sekonic Studio 398 and a Gossen Luna Pro with spot attachment).

I really enjoyed the landscape with the sun burning through the clouds and the rows of rowhouses. To be honest, I probably wouldn't pay for any of the others.

My 2 cents worth,

Ray
