Here's my first serious retouch using Photoshop of one of my shots. Previously, I used Lightroom which would get me to a certain level but not much above. Please let me know what you think.
(If anyone is offended by my use of the Prada logo, I'll put an image without the logo. Also, if someone really wants to know the ISO, aperture, etc. I'll look it up...)
My main problem is that I feel the bag needs to be highlighted better. The only way I can think of this is if I had another light directed at the bag. I did lift it up a bit in post, but didn't want it to push it too much.
Look out Ben, we have another Pentax fashion photographer in town. Personally I like the image, very well done. I can image this as a magazine ad somewhere.
Hi, I think the line in the background is a little distracting. What is that wall she is leaning against? It doesn't fit, as we don't know what it is. It leaves the question of just what is that big metal _____ behind her? Product/fashion shots have to concentrate on the subjects. As pointed out, the bag needs to be better lit. Definitely an excellent first attempt despite this.
I really like the look of the shot. The color of the jacket and the style really look nice. As far as critique I don't mind the background, what I really find distracting is the brightness of the model's skin, especially on her face. I also agree that the bag isn't very well emphasized in the shot, it kind of disappears into the shadows down in the corner there. I also don't think that the bright prada lettering helps that at all, makes the bag appear even darker. If it were possible to compress the contrast of the image a little bit, bringing down the models face and bringing up the bag a bit, I think that would improve the image overall.
