Hosting Services

Hi,

I just hit yesterday my Picasa 500 photo limit, and my flickr account shall not be far from it. I don't think I will find any unlimited account for free, so I ready myself to pay.

So my question is :

What is the best hosting service available for your money the moment ?

Given the fact that :
- I'm using Mac,
- I plan on using lightroom so an upload plugin is welcomed ?

Any advice ?

Well, I use Smugmug.com. There are 3 levels of service, the storage & bandwidth are unlimited (or, possibly, the limit is simply very high -- not sure), and if you want to scale up to a professional site you can.

I don't have any experience with other picture hosting services, so I cannot compare them. But I use and like SmugMug. Check it out.

I'll put another vote in for Smugmug. Been using the service for three years with zero issues. The are a sometimes a tad slower in adding new features compare to the other services, but once they are implemented they are solid and usually the best around. The limits on all plans are very high and it doesn't sound like you'd exhaust the entry level plan any time soon. I think there is an upload plugin for Lightroom, Aperture, and iPhoto. If not, their web-based uploader and separate Mac upload program are both easy to use and reliable. I'm on Mac as well and use their upload program, again never had a problem.
