PSE 6 & Lightroom

What is the best way for an "unintuitive" type to learn these programs? I have both and my intention is to learn them over the winter months. I have a couple books and the LR intro from the Luminous Landscape guys. I guess I am looking for something with exercises or projects that will talk me through each process. Like, .."Open a photograph that you would like to do 'whatever' to and..."

This is the book I picked up to help me with elements. I've pretty much taught myself Lightroom however.
