Is it posible to convert PEF to DNG AFTER you did your adjustments in Lightroom and to retain them.
I learned (a bit late) that DNG holds adjustment settings inside itself and with PEF you have sidecar files. For me, that is enough reason to convert to DNG I just dont know if I will loose all the work until now.
Are the DNG's created by LR2 indeed smaller than the PEF files? This was the claim in Scott Kelby's book about raw files in general, but I haven't tested it yet. I know that in camera, the DNG files saved by Pentax are considerably larger than the equivalent PEF files.
I don't know about Lightroom, but with the Adobe DNG Converter (which I assume LR uses), my K10d PEF's do end up as smaller DNG's. I think my typical PEF's are around 11 Mb and the converted DNG's are around 9 Mb.
The settings may influence the results though. I don't remember how mine are set to convert.
