When you print a fine art photo for selling it or just as a gift to somebody, then where do you prefer to write your name. I have seen quite a variation in the fine art business, with some people writing their name directly on the photo, some printing with a white margin and signing there and yet others signing the back side of the photo or even the matte. Whilst some sign with a fine pen, others use a stamp or even a Photoshop layer, with scanned signature.
I am just curious to know, what people in this forum do. I guess I prefer putting my scanned handwritten name on the white margin under the photo itself. My handwriting is rather awful and varies a lot, so I wouldn't want to spoil the print. Still, I sign the back of the print.
Do you put a date before/after your name? Is it the date, when the photo was taken or when print was made?
Cheers!
