what happened to my post?

Hi!

Do you see my previous post in the "Photo Printing" forum? The one dealing with signatures/names on prints. To me it opens in a really strange way. It seems as unformatted text, without the usual forum layout. It appears to be impossible to post any reply there either...

Well at least this one looks OK! That's a releaf...

Anyway, if some of you have time and ideas then I'm still eager to know your views on the subject posted in the other post.

Quote:

"When you print a fine art photo for selling it or just as a gift to somebody, then where do you prefer to write your name. I have seen quite a variation in the fine art business, with some people writing their name directly on the photo, some printing with a white margin and signing there and yet others signing the back side of the photo or even the matte. Whilst some sign with a fine pen, others use a stamp or even a Photoshop layer, with scanned signature.

I am just curious to know, what people in this forum do. I guess I prefer putting my scanned handwritten name on the white margin under the photo itself. My handwriting is rather awful and varies a lot, so I wouldn't want to spoil the print. Still, I sign the back of the print.

Do you put a date before/after your name? Is it the date, when the photo was taken or when print was made?"

There was a problem like this a little while ago.
Try posting it again without the word print in title. I think that's the solution.

Regarding your primary question, this is very interesting to me, thanks for raising it. I'm preparing myself to get some of my pictures printed and this hadn't occurred to me. I hope you get plenty of responses.
