Didn't it do this before? I'm not sure I noticed to be honest. Is this change in the library module, development, or both?

Thanks ;-)

(I've been running the beta version of 2.3 for about a month now so maybe I've forgotten how 2.2 was, but I have noticed less crashes when using the adjustment brush).

Would be nice if Aperture 2.x gets a similar boost in performance...

Hmm? Does this mean that I now can run LR 2.3 at my old puter? It handles LR 1,3 all right, but I have been assuming the box is to slow for LR 2. Hmm

Wow. Night and day difference in preview loading times. I went from several seconds (or more) to almost immediately on loading photos on the 2nd monitor. Very nice.

I see absolutely zero difference in preview rendering speed going from LR2.2 to LR2.3. I'm running the 64-bit version, though I was running the 32-bit version of 2.2 a couple months ago.

It certainly still takes a few seconds to bring up the full image at 1:1 zoom, and my PC is pretty quick (Athlon X2 o/ced to about 6000 and 4 gigs of memory.)

There's no mention in the release notes of any changes that would affect rendering speed, either.

maybe it's not for u.

Only those who were using the limits of ram memory will feel the diference, if u r running a 64bit with lots of memory or not processing raw files u were already fine; not my case, just this lr upgrade alone save me from to go to a 64bit with 16 gb ram, just to show how bothered i was with my machine performance using lr.

I had 2.3c beta, on vista x64 4gig of ram, didn't see much difference with the full 2.3 release. i miss lr1.4's speed and responsiveness.

I gotta say that 2.2 runs great on Vista x64 here. E6600 and 4 gigs ram, takes a few secs to do 1:1 views but for 16.6MP images I am not complaining.

Does anybody here that is not happy with only 2gb on 32bit and lr 2.2? or it's just me?

It still takes a few seconds to generate a preview, but if you already have a preview generated, it's nearly instantaneous now.

You should get the 64 bit version of windows and lightroom so it will run TWICE AS FAST!!
