Pictbridge

I recently bought an Epson Stylus 1400. While reading one of the reviews about printing on the 1400 a reviewer mentioned that he would never be "brave enough" to print directly from his dslr to the printer. Why would this be? He kind of eluded to the fact that it would take alot more ink(I dont know why but this is how it sounded to me). I tried a couple of prints using pictbridge(am shooting with a K20D) and they looked pretty good to me. But now this has me wondering if I am using a boat load more ink than I have to. With the price of the Claria ink, I sure dont want to be doing that. I dont intend on printing this way all the time, but was hoping someone could shed some light on this. Thanks.
