You can export photos from the Print module. That's how I prepare my photos for my printer. You can apply printing profiles (no softproofing though), add watermarks, borders and etc there. At the bottom right you'll find "Print to" and choose JPEG file.
If you're outputting for web or computer screens, choose 72ppi or 96ppi. Should you want to print, choose 240 or 300ppi (depending on your printer too).
If you're outputting photos to be printed, check the output sharpening and choose the corresponding paper type and amount (standard works good). You can also apply your printer profiles under the Color Management pane.
