Very awesome to have this feature. It means with a calibrated monitor you can see images in firefox how they were intended to be seen, assuming someone made them with calibration.
UPDATE: Site mentions where to change a setting that has been renamed, the setting your looking for is now called
Curious now though about gfx.color_management.display_profile
Since I'm running Spyder3 and have calibrated profiles should I be plugging in the path to my Spyder3 generated profile here? Or, will FF figure that out by itself I wonder?
yeah its much better with it... seems weird that its off by default really.
the only place profiles dont really work is video overlays, though i dont watch video's on my pc much anyway, but i could calibrate my htpc if it worked there.

It's off by default because it uses more system resources and to prevent subtle color variations from affecting the overall look of web sites.. Also, it's worth noting that ICC profiles are only supported in the Firefox 3.x releases.
You just open a new window and type “about:config” in the address bar. After hitting enter, the app will give you a warning, that changing advanced settings is only a good idea if you know what you are doing. Once you’ve confirmed, you’ll get a list of entries. Filter out the ones with the word “color” in them. At the bottom, you’ll find one called “gfx.color_management.enabled”. Simply double-click that line, and the setting in the “Value” column will change from “false” to “true”. Now quit and re-open the app. That’s it! Your Firefox now supports ICC profiles.
I'm guessing those instructions are for an older version. I also see only display_profile,mode, and rendering_intent, but my mode is set to 2 (I don't remember ever changing this before, but that doesn't mean much). I'm guessing the fact that my "mode" is set to 2 means it is enabled for me already. When I visit the site mentioned at the top of the thread, there are a couple sample images designed to test if your browser support ICC profiles, and as far as I can tell, Firefox 3.53 already does (the word "red" is already red, etc). Do other people see something different?
